This item could use some improvement. The replacement works, but switch positions for channels are flimsy. The radio would not turn on, despite trying with several new batteries (which are not included). Returned it and bought another one at Frey Electronics store.
I was impressed with the quality. This is a very nice little radio. Good sound quality and sensitivity.
It is very sensitive and almost impossible to tune to the frequency. This is the most frustrating purchase I have made in years. The AM reception is really bad. When you are able to finally get it tuned, it drifts off the frequency, whether AM or FM. I bought this to listen to local baseball games at work and to have a travel radio for AM and FM listening. I don't use the shortwave feature, so I can't comment on that performance. It uses an analog dial tuner.
I have been in love with radios since my childhood. I use the Alarm and Sleep features daily. I would recommend the M300 am/fm/sw radio to anyone who loves radio on the GO.Also, I love the bright colors available for the M300-Red,Blue,Bronze, Black,Hot Pink& Yellow. I can go to sleep to music/talk radio and wake to the same.
I have always been pleased with Grundig radios. I just turned 65 in March 2009.I have years of experience evaluating Radios. I have one of each. This speaker is the best I've heard for a radio this size.
Also the outside covering feels rubberized and scratch/dent resistant. Mary KingMacon, GA. I like rotary tuning with a digital read out and the drift is minimal. They are simple to set and easy to cancel or reset.
I just couldn't believe how many stations, it pulled in on the shortwave bands, on a small radio like that. I like to listen to shortwave, and found that on the Shortwave bands it pulled in alot of stations, also on the AM and FM bands, I am very satisfied with the receiver, even the ear plugs were quite good. Excellent radio for the price. It must have a duel or triple conversion circut in it. I liked the digital tuning, as there was no drift, except a little on the AM band. It had a strong signal on alot of stations.
